Overview
Timber is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our desktop application. The short version: we don't collect any of your data.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information.
Timber is a local desktop application that runs entirely on your machine. Here's what stays on your device:
- AWS credentials are stored locally on your device only
- Log data is fetched directly from AWS and is never transmitted to us
- Application settings and preferences are stored locally
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage data is collected
- No cookies or tracking technologies are used
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your machine using Electron's secure storage mechanisms. Your AWS credentials and application preferences never leave your device. We have no servers that receive or store your information.
Third-Party Services
Timber connects to AWS CloudWatch using your own AWS credentials. When you use Timber to view logs:
- Your credentials are sent directly to AWS (not through our servers)
- Log data is fetched directly from AWS to your device
- Your interaction with AWS is governed by AWS's privacy policy and terms of service
Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect your information. AWS credentials are stored locally using your operating system's standard storage mechanisms. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Timber is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
